Virat Kohli reveals his new look; will grow beard till 2019 Word Cup

After wrapping up a sweep of all three formats against England, the Indian captain Virat Kohli took very little time to reveal the secret of his success — his beard.

“Cricketers and beards — This combination is all the rage right now. Historically, bearded Kohli has always outperformed clean shaved Kohli,” Nitin Verma, a self proclaimed Cricket Statisticians said, “Kohli did some serious trim to his beard just before 1st T20 at Kanpur. As a result he couldn’t perform well, did absolutely no sledging and of course, India lost,” Mr. Verma backs up his claim with a made up fact.

DelhiPress intern reporter and a very talent man, Suman Babu, who also works as part time cleaner at GQ magazine office, discovered an unofficial copy of recent GQ magazine in the trash. According to the magazine, Kohli has now decided to grow his beard like a real man till 2019 World Cup. Kohli shows off his dramatic new look again on GQ cover; this time with some seriously long beard.

“Dhoni and Jadeja are also in the beard business, but it has absolutely nothing to do with their performance. It seems they are only lazy to take shower or shave at times,” Statisticians Mr. Verma’s records suggest. Suresh Raina is also considering hiring a stylists, reports say.

Growing a beard is a way to save on time. It certainly would give Kohli more time to practice his batting and sledging skills. According to GQ, as we go close to 2019 Word Cup, Kohli might also quit showering all together.
