In the wake of fake news controversy influencing recent US elections, current administration has outlined several ways they might try to stop the spread of fake news.
“We’ve been working on this problem for a long time and we take this responsibility seriously. We’ve made significant progress, but there is more work to be done,” a government official announced on CNN last night.
“The problems here are complex, both technically and philosophically,” he cautioned, referring to an independent study recently done in Russia about reliability of US media, “The study found that only 20 to 30 percent information given on Fox, CNN and MSNBC are based on facts, rest is just assumptions which we consider as simply fake.”
“If you want to try and change things up, you should look for whatever may be the root cause to the problem,” The government official advised during his appearance at CNN, “Instead of banning Facebook statuses or 130 character tweets, we believe in fixing the problem at the core. These news channels collectively spreading way too many lies, and they all must be banned.”
“There is no scientific way of finding if a person writing LOL is literally laughing out loud or not. However, if we can prove that he/she is not really laughing out loud, then the person should be labeled as fake and must be banned from using social media,” Dave Irellia, a Social Media Enthusiast offered his two cents in regards to the recent fake news controversy. It is worth mentioning that Dave checks his phone at least 1600 times a day.
